And There Was Light.
I have power in my house! I spent the last week (well, most of it at least) cooped up in my in-laws’ house. They took me in when my power went out last Saturday because of the ridiculous storm that came through the Bay area! Basically water some how got into our electrical box and blew up. It took three electricians and way too much money to get the power up and running again in our place. One electrician even got half the power running and couldn’t figure out why the other half wasn’t. I slept like a baby the first night we got half the power back up. I mean, I slept so well, I didn’t even care we paid a guy who only got half the job done (literally). Something about being warm in your own bed for the first time in 5 days in the middle of winter just does it to you.
The next week is going to be so chaotic. And exciting. I need to finish Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas before I jet off next Saturday morning for the strip! My flight leaves at 8 am, which means I’m about to be hitting that airport bar at 6. The last time I flew, my plane left at 6:30. Liquor laws in California mandate that you shan’t purchase alcohol between 3am-6am. I sat in the bar for an hour and lusted after a mimosa that was literally seconds away from my grasp.
I am SO excited to be going to Vegas! This definitely is not my first time in the city that never sleeps. Fear and Loathing has added such an interesting layer to the way I’ve visualized the city. I AM EVEN STAYING IN THE FLAMINGO! How exciting is that?!! I love this book. I am glad I picked up this little passion because I would’ve never picked up this book before this! I am already branching my literary wings!
